The Roadmap to Conscious Capitalism: Hemp

Hemp. A four letter word (or shall I say plant) that holds so much hope and promise for US farmers, entrepreneurs and the US economy. A plant that has been mislabeled and mistreated for more than 70 years in United States society that many are now betting their whole livelihoods on. The hemp industry has become synonymous with the same energy exhibited by industries such as cryptocurrency, e-commerce, and blockchain. Driving down your street you’ll see “CBD sold here” claims from convenience stores to retail stores to billboards claiming hemp can solve your anxiety and more. In my opinion, that’s one tall order to put on one plant crop! That’s why I have gravitated towards connecting with people and businesses...

Feminism: where we started, where we are, where we hope to be

Last month, we were reminded of our history as women. And as we were reminded of that history, we were able to look back on where we started and think about how incredibly far we’ve come.  In early American cities, the life a woman was supposed to live was strictly defined by society. When food is thrown away into a landfill, it creates methane which is 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Food waste is one major contributor to greenhouse gases, and has added to the climate crisis we are currently in. In addition,...

So, you’ve bought your metal straw and you believe in the sustainability movement, but where do we go from here? I’m thinking politics. There is no reason that you cannot be a political leader influencing the direction of our country. I have a few keys to help you do this by expanding your influence. The first key? Let’s get educated. Listen to podcasts and read the news (I mean visit the CNN, NY Times, etc. website and read the real story). You can easily incorporate these into your routine by listening to a 30-minute daily news podcast on your walk to class. You can also keep a news app on your phone that sends you quick notifications of major events...
